Figthing Style/Skills: kang uses the regular earth bending style of hung gar which utilises firmly rooted stances and powerful strikes to represent the solid nature of earth. This martial art is the basis of "Earthbending" but he also uses his own unique style chu gar(southern praying mantis) which use distinguishing movements and unique footwork. because of the combination of these styles kang has been able to develop his own style of hagane kamakiri(steel mantis). this style enables him to control his ability of metal bending.


kanesouran - metal control. kang uses this tefchnique to spawn metal from earth. he can use it to create virtually anything from metal.

hagane no tate - shield of steel. kang uses his metal control to create a large shield which can be any size.

furui katana - ancient swords. kang created a pair of katana in the days before he left for his training. these swords are imbuned with stone taken from the first brick of the walls of omashu, these swords have the strength to cut through solid rock and metal, they also have the ability to channel his ability of metal bending.

Yanagi no Mai - Dance of the Willows
Yanagi no Mai is a form of metal bending developed by Kang to take advantange of his metal bending ability. It is the first of five dance forms. Using his ability to manipulate metal, Kang will grow and extend a blade through the palm of his hand to form a stabbing instrument. Using fluid and precise movements, he will then impale his opponents.


Tsubaki no Mai - Dance of the Camellia
It is the second of five dance forms. Using his ability to manipulate metal, Kang will create a long blade in the form of a sword from the ground. Using fluid and precise movements, he will then cut through any opponent within striking distance.


Karamatsu no Mai - Dance of the Larch
Karamatsu no Mai is a form of metal-bending developed by kang to take advantange of his metal bending ability. It is the third of five dance forms. Kang will begin to extend multiple spikes from his body. Both from his rib cage and his radius and ulna. these spikes can act as a strong defensive mechanism against incoming strikes. Due to this they will also serve as an offensive attack to allow Kang to move with little effort to impale his opponent.


Tessenka no Mai - Dance of the Clematis
It is the fourth of five dance forms, utilising his metal bending ability.
vine - Kang will create a long string of molten metal with solidified blades protruding from its surface. Because the metal is flexible, it can wrap itself around an opponent to rip them to pieces.
flower - Using this dance Kang will also form a large flowering metal spear which he can also use to pierce any shield his opponent raises. The spear is said to be nearly indestructible, but Kangs limityed knowlage of his ability makes such a statement questionable.


Sawarabi no Mai - Dance of the Young Ferns
Sawarabi no Mai is the fifth of five dance forms. Kang will quickly grow a multitude of tall spikes from the ground to create a large forest of metal spikes. While in this form he himself can merge into the metal trees to attack his target from whichever spike he wants

History/Background Story: kang was born in the earth countrys first city of omashu. when he was old enough to be taught earth bending the temples apostles discovered that he had a new style of bending, metal bending. the temple of omashu enrolled him and taught him to control this unique ability as best theycould which was only slightly for they had never encountred such a gift in their city. at seven years old kang had taught himself how to control his metal bending through hung gar but it could not control his ability fully. just before his eighth birthday a wondering traveller came to omashu and participated in their yearly tournament and won, the traveller used a slightly known earth bending style called chu gar. kang met with this traveller and they left the city and trained in the wilderness. during this time the fire countrys armys invaded and occupied omashu, in the battles kangs family was slaughtered. during his training kang had mastered chu gar and combined the two earth bending styles to create hagane kamakiri which allowed him to accutly control his ability. when kang returned he found a ruin of his old city which was controlled by the fire nation. he made his way into the city undetected to find no trace of family or friends. kang swore vengence against the fire nation and went to the earth temple. inside he encountred fire troops and had to find a place to hide, he discovered a hidden room inside the temple which had a thousand images of benders engraved in the walls, shelves of scrolls lined one wall, in these scrolls he learned about the avatar. that night kang resolved himself and began his long journey to regain control of omashu to relive the oppresion of the fire nation.

kangs travel's took him on a long exile in the deserts of the earth country, among the desert mountains he found an ancient, abandoned temple which held records numbering to about fifteen scrolls. these scrolls told of a uniqe gift that came only to selected earth benders. those chosen ones had a great destiny to furfill, in the past when an avater was born a droup of metal-benders would be born to aid them in their quest. the only living thing inhabiting the ancient temple was the desert wolf daroka, who beared sacred markings which covered the temple walls, kang learned because of these daroka also had the ability of metal bending, through this the two instantly formed a bond of friendship. kang took daroka as a pet and companion on his journey. going by the knowladge in the scrolls kang travelled through the earth country finding the chosen ones and bringing them together, this act earned him the nickname of "the searcher". after a while a small group was gathered and kang created a small clan of metal benders of which he ruled over as daimyo. after a few years kang and his followers started their journey to find the avatar and destroy the fire nation.
